Zeyang Kan

Viola

The brilliant young Chinese violist Zeyang Kan was born in 1998. He achieved accolades winning the 2nd prize of the Hong Kong International String Competition and the 1st prize of the Vladivostok International Competition for Young Musicians. In his native country, Zeyang Kan completed his formal music studies with the best distinction at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing. Since 2021, he has been studying at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Munich under the tutelage of Prof. Nils Mönkemeyer.

Zeyang Kan appeared as a soloist with the Chinese Youth Orchestra and performed at the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival. In 2022 he took part in the Kammermusikfest Oberlausitz Akademie.

On stage Zeyang Kan has performed with artists such as Dorothee Oberlinger, Reinhard Goebel and Kit Armstrong. In 2021 Zeyang Kan received a scholarship that allowed him to participate in the Masterclass Schumann of the Wilhelm Kempff Academy in Positano where he worked with William Youn, Eckart Runge, and Lena Neudauer.
