The Vevey Spring Classic throws open the doors to its musical family. Marking the festival’s fifth edition, an exclusive documentary captures the unique spirit of the encounter between the Orchestra dell’Accademia Teatro alla Scala and the Riviera public. The tone is set from the opening credits: “The most human aspect of music is something which cannot be spoken with words.”
At the heart of the adventure is Wilson Hermanto, conductor and co-director of the festival, who passionately guides the young talents of the Orchestra dell’Accademia Teatro alla Scala. From intense rehearsals in Milan to magical concerts in Vevey, the film reveals the moments of relaxation and sharing that have bonded musicians and mentors like a true family.
Discover the challenges tackled within a demanding repertoire: Hindemith’s The Four Temperaments featuring the talented pianist Louis Schwizgebel, and the remarkable chemistry with exceptional soloists Veronika Eberle (violin), Máté Szücs (viola), and Daniel Müller-Schott (cello) in Schoenberg’s Chamber Symphony. The festival also offered a window into classical music for the youngest audience with a family concert centered around Francis Poulenc’s Story of Babar, the little Elephant.
Wilson Hermanto shares his vision: “Life is a metamorphosis,” and music, this universal language, enriches every generation.
Whether you are a music lover or simply curious to see how the magic of a festival is created, do not miss this testament to transmission and excellence. Relive the emotion of the festival through the images of this outstanding documentary.
